Launches and Contests

Wow, it’s been a long time since I last updated things here!  Life has definitely kept me more than busy…I’ve been working on three separate launches–one on Etsy, and two on eBay–plus had a few family birthdays in between now and the last post.  On top of that, I’ve been working on a few special items that will be going to a childhood friend of mine.  Those items are nearly done, and will be the basis of my Facebook fan page contest once my friend receives them (no, I haven’t forgotten about the contest I promised a while back).  Here’s a look at the fabrics I’m using for those items:

The far left of the photo is just the carpet in my sewing room, but everything else in the image is fabric I used in the items for my friend.

Now for the first contest:

Handmade Christmas is running a contest from now until the end of the month (yes, October) where the winner will get to choose between a $100 shopping spree on their website or a free FOR LIFE Pro account (which is valued at $12 per month for the life of the account or itself).  I know which one I’ll be choosing–and it isn’t the $100 shopping spree!  Who knows, maybe this (and their current promotion which allows even unverified members like myself to have unlimited listings during the holiday season) will inspire me to have more in my Artfire studio!

And now for the current launch:

This is a really amazing launch that I’m blessed to be a part of.  There are over 100 different designers participating (including myself), and we have all chipped in to pay for a weekend trip to Disney, which will be awarded to the bidder with the highest point total.  The point total is calculated at a rate of 1 point per dollar on any given winning bid.  In other words, say Jennifer Q. won one auction with a bid of $75, a second auction with a bid of $350, and a third one with a bid of $100, she would be awarded a total of 525 points.  She could also have bid on other auctions as well, but if she didn’t have the winning bid on those, she doesn’t get points awarded for them.  Here’s a sneak peek of my auction for this launch:

Woof, woof!  Curious about the rest of the set?  I’ll be doing the photo shoot this afternoon with my daughter, and will reveal the whole set once I get a chance to edit the photos, share them with the person who graciously provided the hair bows (the bows arrived 3 hours ago–whew!), and set up my eBay listing.  I’ll post the link to the auction here once everything is set up.
